Clash Magazine

My magazine was based around the idea of Clash Magazine. Here are a few examples of Clash to see where I got some of my aspects from.

I took the barcode and price of the magazine from this cover with Matt Healy of The 1975 on.

I took the plus sign from this magazine cover with James Blake.

I took the artist list idea on the top left hand side of the magazine from this cover with A$AP Rocky.

I took the one line main headline from this magazine cover with Lorde.

I took the white with a dark black shadow title idea from this magazine cover with M.I.A.

Magazine Cover Page Second Draft

 This is my second draft magazine cover. You will notice compared to my first draft on this cover, the barcode is smaller and rotated to fit nicely in the corner, the price and issue number are smaller and are underneath the barcode this time, the titles have a stronger black shadow to really emphasize the writing and there are more artists mentioned in the plus section.

This is the first draft that I completed. You will notice compared to my second draft on this cover, the barcode is bigger and slightly out of place, the price and issue number are bigger, the titles have a less powerful black shadow and there are less artists mentioned in the plus section.

I based my magazine on Clash magazine. I took some aspects specifically from this cover.

My magazine was inspired by Clash magazine, as I have based my magazine title similarly and have been inspired by the layout of the magazine on both the cover and the contents pages.

As you can see I have been inspired by certain aspects from the magazine like the plus sign on the cover and the certain designated areas for text, whereas on the contents page I have been inspired by the idea of having the celebrity images as a square/rectangle and have a coloured circle next to them with the page number that they are included in.
